My advice for beating procrastination is the opposite of what every productivity expert tells you. My clients swear by it — including one who's finally selling a car she's put off for months.
This is so helpful! I’m paring down a collection of glassware and got overwhelmed with the process of how to sell/donate some and display some. So I took a step back and just sorted what I want to keep and what I’d let go. That got the project rolling. Now I can say to my daughter, If I were to get rid of xyz would you be interested in it? No pressure on her and no disappointment on me if she says no!
Sometimes I think not tackling that pile is a form of regulation. IF I get through it, THEN I have to move forward in life. Sometimes that's so much for me. I love this suggestion, at least my toe is in the water.
100%! I always say that clutter often gets a bad rap. But, it often acts as a protector distracting us from something we don't want to or aren't ready to deal with. AND...I'm excited that this helped get your toe in the water. :)
Thanks for this tip on getting back into moving forward and also about the shaming aspect!
I fell down a big rabbit hole trying to deal with my journals. I started rereading them and got totally triggered and PTSD. Started getting upset about things I thought I had processed and angry at people I now have good relationships with. Started getting sick! So I stopped and put them all back in the cupboard. I still need to deal with them but not sure how yet. Question to myself.. can I shred them without rereading them?! suggestion’s are welcome.
My question for you is...what purpose does reading the old journals serve? Does it help you move forward in your life? Is it helpful in healing trauma? Does it bring you joy?
Thank you for your feedback! We all do learn so differently. I'll look into whether there's an easy and time efficient way of doing both. My intention is not to do the audios forever, but for a short series.

Yes! That's exactly what I was speaking about. It is amazing how just a little step can create the momentum you're looking for. xoxo

Hi Dorena,

I think that's a good question to ask yourself :)

I wish you would go back to writing instead of the audio. I need to see it written instead of hearing it. Could you possibly do both?
